Memery...All alone in the moonlight...
Ok, I feel silly doing this. It feels so self-indulgent...and then I think, gosh, what if no one answered? But what the heck.

Taken from [info]kitanzi and [info]autographedcat:

If you read this, even if we don't speak often, please post a comment with a memory of you and me. It can be anything you want, either good or bad. (The original meme has the disclaimer: "I promise not to come after you with a spatula, either way." I don't really have a good schema for spatulas, so I'm leaving it out. Except, of course, I've just put it in. Anyway...)

When you're finished, post this little paragraph on your blog and be surprised (or mortified) about what people remember about you.

PS...My mother reads this journal. Keep it family-friendly and work-safe, eh?

I am remembering the night we took this picture, when I went with you and Aaron to dinner out at the Melting Pot the last time I was in Atlanta. You loaned me the necklace, because we'd decided that dress just Needed One. We had a marvelous meal, and had time for the dessert fondue, too. Aaron was salivating when he found out they had the Bailey's and chocolate fondue. I found out that although I'm only okay on eating strawberries by themselves, I ADORE them in chocolate fondue. My favorite memory of the evening was when Aaron had gone off to the restroom, and you and I were finishing off the chocolate fondue - and having run out of things to dip in it before we ran out of fondue, we were drizzling the fondue onto our little plates, letting it cool for a moment, and licking it off. Oh, it was so good! And the look on Aaron's face when he came back around the corner to see us doing it! The waiter had seen us already and just grinned at us.

Dancing at one or another variant of the Iron Bog Harvest Feast.

I remember you trying to teach me some pronunciation in French once. You were trying to explain what I should do with my mouth to make a particular sound. I started trying and suddenly decided that either your description was very bad or I just couldn't do it. The combination of my dumbfounded look while still in the middle of trying the sound was apparently hilarious (unsurprisingly, actually... it had to be pretty silly looking).

Yep, that was pretty funny, all right. ;)

Ohhhh!

When you and Aaron visited and we were playing Scrabble at my parents' house after Sunday Night Dinner and we Eric made a joke about you being his ex-girlfriend that shocked my mom!

The comment was so priceless and now I can't remember it!
Joyce[info]joyeuse13 on November 3rd, 2005 03:52 pm (UTC)
Oh, yes! Something about being a good team, and it was just like old times, and "was it good for you, too, dear?" *grin*
Joyce[info]joyeuse13 on November 3rd, 2005 09:48 pm (UTC)
And actually, I don't think it shocked your mom nearly so much as it shocked me that Eric would say it in front of your mom!

Remember, mom thinks Eric is nigh unto perfect!

I remember the really cool filk you did from Music Man, and how you got the whole room involved in it at one of the housefilks. I'm not sure if that was the first time I'd met you, but at least close to it. That was fantastic!

*grin* Thanks!

We've never met (and I think it's a pity), but I remember the purple orhids and rosehips you sent me when I was last in the hospital. You did this just out of the goodness of your heart, and because I was someone [info]celticdragonfly knew and cared about. It was one of the kindest and most unexpected experiences I've ever had.

It doesn't cover it, but thanks.

I'm so glad I was able to cheer you some. :)

Testing how deep the water was, coming back from Sayreville fencing ... almost to the floor of the suv, if I remember correctly. At least the dear vehicle didn't stall.

We went to your Mom's house for a fall or winter gathering.

You were so proud of your quiche! (And for good reason, I might add.) But I think the funniest thing was your amusement at your Mom's tray of fish-balls. I think I was one of very few to eat them.

It was a lovely evening, with singing afterwards. A warm house filled with friends. (Ok, I didn't know most of them. But they were nice people nonetheless!)

Mom still remembers that you liked her fish balls. :)

ConDFW. The Bujoldfen dithering about dinner (non)plans. Impatience growing. I decreed that we needed a strong, decisive "Alpha". And since *I* am shy, retiring, and utterly not a Take Charge type, I forcibly drafted you.

(It worked, too! *g*)

*grumble, grumble* I haven't been the same since, either...

You were sprawled on Brian and Suzan's couch, dressed in goth-ware and mouthing lines that Patrick was displaying on the TV screen.

*giggle* That was fun! I want to do more DCTV stuff. :D

Con DFW, for the face to face meeting.

I enjoy the good natured snark, especially on the LMB list.
