Masquerade
My presentation got a good laugh--a verse of "The Lion Sleeps Tonight" (thanks, [info]filkerdave, for the idea!) cut off by a lion's roar. The costume received much praise...but nevertheless I didn't win. Most original went to a strip-tease pirate, judges choice went to the world's most adorable 6 year old Romulan, and 1st, 2nd and 3rd, respectively, to a Victorian belle, a Jedi with some mad light saber moves, and a Van Helsing style vampire hunter.

Also notable was Stitch-as-Elvis, in a giant foam and fur anime head, some Stargate characters, and HankMcCoy in full blue face paint.

Annoyingly, I was told by more than one judge how close it was, and how hard a time they had deciding between me and x. The grand prize was a box full of glass beads, which the Victorian lady, a professional costumer, will make far better use of than I would anyway...and I keep telling myself I'm not in it for the winning, I'm in it for the hamming--for which I had ample opportunity!
