Wedding Weekend
We flew up to Raleigh this weekend to attend [info]skellington's and [info]partytrick's wedding. It was a Scottish-themed wedding: men in kilts, highland dancing, the whole 9 yards. [info]skellington looked awfully spiffy in his black-on-black plaid dress kilt, and [info]partytrick was beautiful in a traditional white wedding gown, with her hair done up in complicated loops and twirls, twined with pearls.

I love a wedding where there's an announcement to change into your dance shoes. :) This was the first time I'd seen highland dancing, and it was pretty impressive. Somehow Jaime managed to keep up with an entire line of people waiting to dance with her--some of them more than once. There was some country dancing as well, but due to time constraints, they had to run through them pretty fast, with the assumption that everyone knew what they were doing. I exercised the better part of valor and sat out of these. There were a few swing songs later on, so [info]skellington and I got a dance in, and I felt less wimpy about not dancing. :)

After the wedding reception, the bride's family hosted a more informal party at their home, with yet more dancing! Without the time constraints of the reception space, there was time to teach some of the less complicated dances, so I did a few of those.

Thank you so much for putting these up. I hope you don't mind that we pointed a few family members to the site.

There are some really great shots there! (And our friend Sandy would probably be mortified if she sees that shot of her legs. :-)

Could I get everything you shot in full resolution on a CD?

Oh, yay, I'm glad you like them! Feel free to link others. It was really hard to get good pictures of the ceremony because of the back lighting, but I was pretty happy w/ some of the dancing shots. Mark got some good ones, too, you should check w/ him.

Remind me next time I see you, and I'll burn a CD for you. :)
