Wednesday, Oct. 13 - Vigelandmuseet
Aaron had to attend more conference sessions today, so I decided to go back and see the Vigeland Museum, since it had been closed on Monday.
The museum was practically deserted, and silent as a tomb--except when the nearby construction machines rumbled alive.
As I was walking through one immense room filled with plaster casts, there was a faint ringing in the air. I assumed it was the HVAC system, or more construction equipment, but as I got closer to the other end of the room, and the double doors there, the sound got louder. When I peeked through the doors, I found there was a temporary exhibit of photographs by a local artist; his photographs--empty fake "landscapes" comprised of plastic sheets--were displayed in a huge room, in the dark, with a steadily cycling note ringing louder and softer. Modern art, yeah.
