The Last of the Oslo Pictures! - Oslo Bymuseum
Wednesday, Oct. 13 - Bymuseum - History of the City of Oslo

My guidebook recommended a neighborhood with interesting buildings and shops for dinner, and I thought by now I had the bus system figured out. So I hopped on the bus intending to get off when I saw the streets mentioned in the guidebook.

I was wrong. Not so much about the bus system, but about how the bus route corresponded with my map. In fact, it didn't. The bus was soon off my map entirely, so I decided to get off at a place where the bus route showed a corresponding underground station. However, the person I asked informed me that the station had been closed years ago...

Starting to feel like I was in a novel, I asked desparately what the best way was for me to get back to central Oslo, praying the answer wouldn't be "take a taxi," since I was down to my last handful of kroner. Luckily, there was a tram stop right around the corner, and my bus ticket was good for a transfer. So I made it back to the hotel in time to meet Aaron for waffles!

And that was our last day in Oslo...we decamped the next day for Amsterdam.

Ooh, bobbin lace! Pretty pillow, looks like a nice one, a good design for working with. Pity the bobbins are all in such a tangle.

Trepanning and amputation kits, eeek.

Waffles, yay! (major fan of waffles here. And what are Norway waffles like?)

Just like American waffles, but I can't understand them. ;)
