Some pictures of Mom and Sid dancing last week. No pictures of me, alas.

We took my mom and her husband to the 57th last night for the swing dancing. When we got to the door to pay the cover charge, Sid asked, "Any discounts for World War II veterans?" And he and Mom got in for free!

I got in a lot of good dances with several good partners, and twirled Aaron around a little. (He doesn't really swing dance, but was kind enough to give us all a ride.) [info]skellington came, and got to meet the folks, and I ran into a guy I'd danced with at AVS, who remembered both me, and the lead into tandem Charleston. So I did tandem Charleston! I did it, I did it! It was so cool!!

I went swing dancing last night! It turns out there's this little restaurant near the airfield in Chamblee with a WWII theme, and they have a bar with a big dance floor. So every Wednesday night they have a swing dance party, with a beginner lesson from 8-8:30. Of course, I can't get there til later, what with my work schedule, but luckily I'm not a beginner. :)

Aaron was out at the Nine Inch Nails concert last night, which is decidedly not to my taste, so I decided to have a night out on my own. Aaron is a mean waltzer, and a great contra dancer besides, but the uneven swing beat drives him crazy, so we haven't done a lot of it. I danced with some utterly amazing partners, who just ran me around the dance floor--it's a great workout, and sure beats the treadmill or the stationery bike. I can't wait to go back next week and dance some more!
