Charleston
Call us wimpy, but six hours is just too bloody long a drive. It would have been better to get out of Atlanta before rush hour on Friday, but even so, we'd rather not drive to Charleston again. Not that we wouldn't want to go back to Charleston. It's a fun little city, and we haven't had time to explore it completely yet.

Charleston is great, but next time, I'm teleporting.

Today, in Which a Friend Goes Home, Music is Made, and a Room is Partially Together
We had to put [info]celticdragonfly on the plane back to Dallas, and send her back to [info]selenite and the baby dragonflies. We will miss her, but it was a wonderful visit!

We started practices today for the Piccolo Spoleto arts festival in Charleston. We've got just three practices (today, tomorrow, and Tuesday) to get ready, but luckily it's all stuff we've sung before. There are three or four new people singing with us, though, and I really feel for them--three rehearsals to learn an entire concert's worth of really hard music from scratch. I'm sure I couldn't do it, even rehearsing on my own.

I spent some time putting the bedroom back together today; since we'll be at choir practice the next two nights, and in Charleston over the weekend, I might not have time to post pictures for a while. But it's loverly! (And BIG!)

Workout Stats
According to the Y's software, I am now lifting 7,695 lbs per visit. When I started on March 13, I was lifting 1,245 lbs.

Gosh, I feel all buff.

Once the puppet madness is over, we're going to try to make it to the gym 3 times a week instead of 2. Of course, the end of puppet madness means the beginning of choir madness, as we scramble to prepare for the music festival in Charleston, and the tour in September. Luckily, most of the music is stuff we've sung before, so it's familiar. But gym time may have to be sacrificed in the name of the greater good music.

(And in other news...I've now had my hard contact lens for a year. Vision, what a lovely thing.)
