Independence Day Ingenuity
9:20 am. Thunder. Wind. Pouring rain. *sideways* And me, alone in the garage at work, not realizing that the building would be closed for the holiday weekend. Upstairs, in assorted vehicles, 8 Latino immigrants waiting for their citizenship instructor. Ulp. Now what?

After a few panicked phone calls yielded no results, I made a quick decision, ran up to the parking lot with an umbrella, and invited the lot of them home with me. About that time, my classroom assistant showed up, so I handed out the address, and asked her to wait in the parking lot a bit longer to catch any stragglers. Then I dashed home and frantically shoved clutter in closets, cleared off the dining room table, and brought in extra chairs.

20 minutes later, I had upped the count to 10 students, plus my assistant, all crammed around our dining room table. No projector, no white board, no textbooks. But we held class, dammit. Because that's what you do. Happy Independence Day.

You're a superhero. You seriously need a cape and a cowl.

Wait, this is you. You almost certainly already have a cape and a cowl.
